Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Opportunity: Geriatric or NeuropsychiatristOur organization is on the lookout for a fellowship-trained and board-certified Geriatric or Neuropsychiatrist, who is also skilled in electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). This role is within a tertiary academic practice that serves both rural and urban communities. We welcome candidates with a demonstrated passion and expertise in addressing the complex psychiatric needs of older adults. Preference will be given to those whose ECT credentials stem from completing an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) ECT training program. Ideal candidates will be exceptional clinician-educators dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors and their families, and eager to collaborate with a team of like-minded professionals.
Responsibilities- Conduct evaluations and provide treatment for older adult patients facing a variety of complex psychiatric conditions.
- Collaborate closely with primary care and specialty care providers using a shared electronic medical record (EMR).
- Engage in teaching and mentoring Psychiatry residents, Geriatric Medicine fellows, medical students from Tufts University School of Medicine, and interns in Social Work and Psychology.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, ensuring high standards in safety, quality, and patient satisfaction.

The Senior Psychiatry Division is dedicated to the assessment and treatment of older adults with a wide array of psychiatric illnesses. Our clinical team comprises psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and social workers. We also have access to the 100-bed Spring Harbor Hospital and MaineHealth Behavioral Health, our comprehensive mental health service. Additionally, our facility includes P6, a specialized 21-bed geriatric/neuropsychiatry inpatient program, and a 63-bed Emergency Department featuring a 6-bed Acute Psychiatry Unit. ECT services are available for both inpatients and outpatients at our main facility and other locations within the system.
